King Charles changes the laws for William and Kate

Carlo is said to have made important gestures for William and Kate. His reign gradually began to take shape as modern and simple. For the moment the Sovereign has not wanted to upset anything, but it is said that he foresees big changes. In all this, he can always count on his wife Camilla, his son William and Princess Kate.

It is precisely this last couple who remain solidly close to Carlo, who take them into great consideration. Because of this, the Sovereign is said to have taken on a new “enterprise” with the future of the Prince and Princess of Wales in mind.

A few days ago, in fact, the new king made his first request to Parliament. He demanded that the government change the legislation concerning its councilors of state, to allow the monarch to appoint Princess Anne and Prince Edward to these roles. But what does all this have to do with William and Kate?

According to the English law in force on the subject, any sovereign must be able to rely on five Councilors of State, one of whom is represented by his wife. They are members of the royal family who can stand in for the king in case of emergency or need. As they must be closest to him in succession to the throne, King Charles also includes Prince Harry and Prince Andrew.

As is known, however, neither of them works as a member of the royal family and both are considerably removed from Crown engagements. This means that in times of need, King Charles could only rely on three people: Camilla, William and Princess Beatrice of York. It would be a rather risky situation, especially since the British royal family are often traveling abroad. Just an upcoming trip by William and Kate Middleton therefore prompted the King to seek the change of law with such urgency.

In a few weeks, in fact, the Prince and Princess of Wales will embark on an important trip to America. The overseas trip could mean Prince William could not replace King Charles if he fell ill or was otherwise unable to carry out his royal duties. In the future, it could also happen that the king and queen consort are also on the road, which would significantly reduce the number of advisers available by half. In this case, only Princess Beatrice would remain, already not too busy with Crown affairs.
