When you discover such news, even Thor, the mighty god of thunder, cannot remain indifferent. Chris Hemsworth has discovered that he is genetically predisposed to a nasty disease that could ruin his life.
Australian actor Chris Hemsworth, best known for his role as the Scandinavian god Thor, who along with his hammer is one of Marvel’s most beloved heroes, recently landed on Disney+ with his reality show Limitless.

Although the reality show was boycotted as too extreme even for an athletic actor like Hemsworth, it finally landed on the Disney Plus platform on November 16, which he (unfortunately) discovered was predisposed to a very serious illness.
Why was Limitless boycotted?
Limitless is an adrenaline-pumping series in which the series’ protagonist, Chris Hemsworth, pushes his body to the max with limitless exercises and activities. This personal journey of the actor will be divided into six parts, in which the God of Thunder will abandon his faithful Mjolnir in favor of exploits directly developed by experts, scientists and doctors around the world. These extreme challenges want to push Chris to get closer to immortality, by understanding the limits of his body and his mind, thanks to his astonishing physical form.
This series has been boycotted by many as the tests are proving too much even for the Aussie star. While filming the latest Thor, Marvel spoke unfavorably of the National Geographic documentary series and wanted it to be put on hold until Hemsworth finished filming.
Here are the words of Thor himself on this: “I said, ‘Well, we’ll do that before we shoot Thor.’ So I started training and I broke my ankle, that to which Marvel got in the way and said, “No, no, this show could kill it, you can do that after you finish the movie.”
Hemsworth’s disease
Before being able to participate in the series (for which he made himself available voluntarily) Limitless, Chris Hemsworth had to undergo specific tests to check his state of health. And that’s when he found out he had the APOE4 gene.

Simply put, Hemsworth has an 8% to 10% genetic predisposition to get Alzheimer’s disease in his lifetime. Obviously for the actor it was a cold shower, discovering that he could get sick gave him a lot of worries.
After an initial shock, Chris decided to take cover, trying to do everything in his power to avoid this sad fate. Exercise regularly, eat a healthy diet, try to live with as little stress as possible, get enough sleep, choose movies that are worth watching, and take long walks. Although from time to time you notice a bad joke from his memory, the actor hopes that it is only a suggestion and has decided to continue his life peacefully.
