Before Zack Snyder left the production of ‘Justice League’ he wanted to bring Superman (Henry Cavill) back to life with a very different look.
In addition to the black suit, he wanted to show the character with red mullet, long hair and a beard, but Warner Bros. vetoed the idea.
Snyder revealed the information during an interview with YouTuber Tyrone Magnus.
“[Henry e eu] we talked about it a lot and I was a visual advocate with hair and beard, but we had already started recording and the studio was urging me to move on. I was lucky enough to think of a way to insert the dark suit … I had done a lot of research so I knew how to make the colorful suit black.
Still, Snyder said he faced several criticisms from Warner executives, who were against the idea.
“I always said I would shoot with the colorful costume and it would be dark afterwards. And then they said to me, “You don’t know what you’re talking about, nobody wants to see a dark suit, let’s just color.” I knew they would change their mind at some point … and there we are. The beard and long hair were already more complicated. We saw what happened when they touched his face.
In that last sentence, Snyder refers to the fact that Cavill re-recorded his scenes in the 2017 release while wearing a mustache for the recordings of ‘Mission: Impossible – Fallout Effect’.

As fans know, the mustache has been digitally removed and Cavill’s face has been distorted, becoming an internet joke.
