Before Ryan Reynolds was cast as the lead in “Deadpool,” Jensen Ackles (“Supernatural”) was one of Fox’s top picks to play the character.
However, the star revealed to CBR that he couldn’t accept the role due to conflicting schedules. While attending the Salute to Supernatural convention, Ackles was asked about the invitation, to which he responded:
“There was definitely a movie I was being considered for. But I wasn’t available, so it kind of ended there. But if I was available, I would have to, you know, bounce between the studios. But I had a really good experience watching it, and it’s a movie that I really like. That movie was ‘Deadpool'”
The actor then joked that not getting the part was probably best for everyone.
“I think the whole cast was amazing. I probably would have ruined it for a lot of people if I was one of them, so it was probably best not to. But damn, that would have been cool.
Take the time to watch:
In any case, the star is no stranger to the comic book universe, as he played Soldier Boy in season 3 of ‘The Boys’ and voiced Batman in the upcoming animated ‘Legion of Super-Heroes’. ‘.
So, do you think he would do well as Deadpool?
Speaking of mercenary Tagarela, a Twitter profile dedicated to “Deadpool 3” news revealed that the character’s next film is set to revisit previous Fox adaptations, including “Fantastic Four.”
The publication claims the leak comes from none other than Daniel Richtman, the same insider who revealed Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s involvement in “Spider-Man: No Return Home.”
For now, there is no way to prove the veracity of the information.
However, given that Deadpool was a Fox character prior to Disney’s acquisition of the studio, it makes sense that there’s something tied to his original home.
Plus, if he revisits the “X-Men” movies, that would also explain Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine, as the star is confirmed for the sequel.
As Marvel Studios invests in the multiverse, this would be a fun way to look back at the early mutants and foursome movies.

Recalling that “Deadpool 3” is set to hit theaters in November 2024 and, although it still seems a long way off, production on the film will begin soon.
During an interview with SiriusXM radio, Ryan Reynolds revealed that filming will begin before the next North American summer, which runs between June and August.
Although the star did not mention a specific date, it is possible that the cameras will start rolling by the end of the first quarter of 2023.
“Production should begin hopefully shortly before next summer,” Reynolds said. “But the shooting is the shortest and easiest part. The hardest parts are the preparation and the writing. Shooting is quick and then there’s the editing process, which is where the film is really made.
‘Deadpool 3’ will be directed by Shawn Levy (‘Stranger Things’) and written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who penned the first two anti-hero adventures.
The film will mark a new collaboration between Reynolds and Levy after “Free Guy: Taking Control” and “The Adam Project”.
