When James Gunn and Peter Safran were announced as the new bosses of DC Studios, some DCnauts already started calling him “DC’s Kevin Feige.”
That’s because some people think there’s a rivalry coming from Gunn himself, when he helmed the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy and Marvel’s recent Christmas special.
The director himself spoke on Twitter and completely denied this theory. See the filmmaker’s reaction below:
“Not only do I love Kevin Feige, but he was the first person I spoke to after I made the deal with DC – John Cena was the second. Contrary to popular belief, a dollar less for Marvel is not a dollar more for DC. DC and Marvel have a common goal to keep the cinematic experience vibrant and alive!

It should be noted that Feige has already congratulated his friend on his new role: “He has a lot of work to do for Marvel between now and May, which he is well aware of. After the third “Guardians of the Galaxy”, I will be on the front line to see what he will do.”

The initial opening of this shift to DC came over the North American summer, simultaneously with negotiations with Dan Lin.
“DC has some of the most fun, powerful and iconic characters in the world and I’m thrilled to have the unique and complementary talents of James and Peter joining our world-class team and overseeing the creative direction of the DC Universe,” said David. . Zaslav.
Besides the main universe, which currently includes “Black Adam” and the upcoming new films “Aquaman”, “Shazam” and “Wonder Woman”, there is also the core of “Batman” directed by Matt Reeves, and “Joker” , who will again have a solo feature film with ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’.
