Bacterium puts consumers in crisis after a few cases of infection: here are all the foods that could be attacked by the pathogen
There is no peace for Italian consumers. Along with the high cost of living and rising bills, families will also need to be careful about their expenses and how they consume certain common types of food.

A new and dangerous alarm has been raised regarding the food in circulation. Indeed, as demonstrated by a case that happened to a 75-year-old man in Campobasso, there is a risk of infections and contamination by an insidious bacteria that attacks food.
We are talking about Listeria, a family of bacteria made up of ten species. One of them, Listeria monocytogenes, causes a disease called listeriosis. And although rare, listeriosis is often a serious disease, leading to high rates of hospitalizations and deaths.
Listeriosis discovered in Italy: pay attention to these foods to avoid contagion
Listeriosis is therefore not a common effect, but unfortunately the pathogen that causes it has recently proliferated on certain types of foods and foods sold in our supermarkets.
The first foods under discussion for this possible infection are frankfurters, or the famous German sausage that has also been popular on our tables for years. Its preparation could suggest the attack of the aforementioned bacteria, to the point of being transferred to the human body, especially if ingested raw.
Indeed, Listeria is suitable for saline environments and even at low temperatures, while cooking at over 65° kills bacteria. The offending foods, in addition to frankfurters, can be dairy products, raw vegetables, meats or, in particular, refrigerated foods that do not require cooking before being consumed. Here is the list of foods to avoid or at least to treat in the right way: cooked meat dishes, cold cuts, smoked fish such as salmon and therefore also products containing it (sandwiches, toast), raw milk, unpasteurized dairy products, pates.
As The Daily Fact explains, Listeria infection is still poorly understood and causes symptoms close to gastroenteritis. That is to say fever, intestinal pain, diarrhea. If these symptoms do not go away, in case of infection, your family doctor should be contacted directly within 2-3 days.
