Breakfast, as health professionals tell us, is the most important meal of the day, as it gives us the energy we need to start the day in the best possible way. A good and hearty breakfast is the Italian one, it consists of hot croissants, a drink which can be hot or cold depending on the season, fruit and biscuits.
Nutritionists say, on a generic basis, that the right amount of biscuits to eat for breakfast is 4, maximum 5. Obviously, the quantities can vary from person to person and, above all, from the type of biscuits . A simple biscuit, without chocolate, contains on average 70 calories: we therefore fit perfectly into the 5 recommended biscuits. If, on the contrary, the biscuit is enriched with chocolate, the calorie intake is greater and therefore the number of biscuits must be reduced from 5 to 3.
More and more often it happens that the recommended dose is greatly exceeded and therefore a large amount of sugar reaches our body. If it is an occasional behavior, our body is able to manage the production of insulin, but in the event that this bad habit is repeated every day, it could lead to hyperglycemia. This means that the amount of sugar in the blood is so high that our body cannot fight it, causing insulin resistance or diabetes.
Experts advise us to favor low-calorie biscuits, which therefore contain few ingredients and above all not to exceed the quantities. Certainly, there are many Italian excellences that produce excellent cookies both from a nutritional and taste point of view, so it would be a good idea to opt for these. If, on the other hand, you are on a diet, cookies are a food that you cannot give yourself more than three times a week and preferably whole. Also in this case, it is recommended not to exceed the threshold of 5 cookies at a time.
