Despite the fun post-credit scenes in “Venom: Time for Carnage” and “Spider-Man: No Return Home,” where the symbiote was temporarily part of the MCU, many viewers criticized the decision as a major hole in the script.
In ‘No Return Home’, only people who know Spider-Man’s identity entered the MCU universe after Doctor Strange’s spell failed. So how did Venom join them if there wasn’t even a Spider-Man in their universe?
In an interview with Variety, screenwriters Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna clarified this question.
“The idea is that the symbiote has a collective mind with knowledge that spans other universes. Buried deep within your brain, there is some knowledge of this connection.
Recalling that “Spider-Man: No Return Home” continues to be shown in theaters.
