Henry Cavill has played countless memorable characters in film and television – and one of them was the iconic Superman in the DC Universe.
While there is no future project that revolves around the superhero, Cavill expressed his desire to reprise the role in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
“There is still a lot to do with Superman, and I would love this opportunity,” he commented. “Zod’s death gave the character a reason to never kill again. Superman falling to the ground and screaming right after – I don’t think it was in the original script, but I wanted to show the pain he was feeling. J made a lot of other emotional follow-ups that they didn’t choose; tears flowed freely. He killed the last remaining member of their species. It was the choice he made then and he never will. There is an opportunity to mature after that, to explore Superman’s psyche as an almost divine and seemingly invulnerable being, but with real feelings inside. As I always say: ‘the blanket is still in the closet’ ”.
