As happens almost daily, the Ministry of Health website has issued a food alert for a product commonly found in supermarkets. In this case we are talking about a cheese, which is risky for consumers and which must be returned immediately to the point of sale. The analysis of the file is in progress by the government body but in the meantime no one should ingest it or cook it.
This is Gorgonzola Dolce Dop, produced by the Italian brand Pascoli, which presents a risk of contamination by listeria monocytogenes. It should be noted that listeria has also been reported in the last period for other food products such as wurstel, pancakes and salmon sandwiches. All the very common foods that are found on our tables every day and that can cause even non-trivial problems at the gastrointestinal level.

For now, the Ministry of Health, regarding the gorgonzola withdrawn from the market, informs that additional checks will be carried out in the coming hours. It is a cheese produced by the Gelmini Carlo dairy based in Besate in the province of Milan. The reference lot number is: 218246252.
Concretely, the packages observed are those of 300 grams that can be found in Eurospin supermarkets. The withdrawal was ordered due to a possible microbiological risk. Listeria has created a low-key alert in recent weeks, especially after the suspicious deaths in the tainted raw sausage case. Analyzing the complete excursus, we are talking about at least three deaths, starting from last year. The first in Lombardy in 2021, then in Piedmont in March 2022 and finally last June in Emilia-Romagna.
The advice is always the same: do not consume the batch in question under any circumstances (not even cooked) and take care to bring it back to the store where it was purchased. The merchant is required to reimburse the customer, after having read the notice issued by the Ministry.
