A few days ago, it was revealed that “Gears of War”, Microsoft’s acclaimed game franchise, will be getting new live-action movie adaptations and anime series from Netflix.
And games creator Cliff Bleszinski is already campaigning to bring in Dave Bautista (“Guardians of the Galaxy”) as a cast member for the film.
On his Twitter profile, Bleszinski wrote:
“Oh yeah, Bautista as Marcus, please – and a Latin actor as Dom, damn it.”

Despite his desire to see Bautista in the film, Bleszinski confirmed that he was not involved in either the film or the animated series, but gave his blessing to each project.
Also, he made it clear that he would be open to consultation on both if Netflix contacted him, but said he had no hard feelings if he stayed out of productions.
As of now, there’s still no information on who will be directing the adaptations, but the project is partnered with Canadian developer The Coalition.
Recalling that “Gears of War” is one of the most popular franchises on Xbox. With the news, Netflix is adding another big name to the slate of game adaptations, which include “Arcane” and “The Witcher,” for example.
It should be noted that the announcement takes place to celebrate the 16th anniversary of the franchise, whose first title was released in 2006. There is still no release date for the adaptations of ‘Gears of War’.
