Ezra Miller has sent a statement to Variety explaining the various crimes he has committed in recent months, after Warners considered canceling ‘The Flash’ if the actor did not publicly apologize.
“I am going through a period of intense crisis and I now understand that I suffer from complex mental health problems. I started continuous treatment. I want to apologize to everyone I have worried and upset about my past behavior. I am committed to doing the work necessary to return to a healthy, safe and productive stage of my life.
Anyone who follows the latest news on protagonist Ezra Miller knows he’s been charged with multiple crimes since the start of the year, including assault, contempt of authorities, resisting arrest, grooming minors, and even running a crime. a sect that mistreats women and children.
The THR had previously reported that Warner had received indications that Miller intended to seek medical help because of the controversies in which he was embroiled.
If he agrees to receive proper treatment, the studio will clear the film for theatrical release and hold a press conference for the star to clarify his misconduct, followed by a press tour to promote the film.
In the second scenario, if Miller does not accept qualified help, Warner can still release the film, but will ban the star’s presence in the promotion, in addition to setting him aside to recast the character with another actor in new future projects.
Have fun watching:
The third option is the most drastic, leading to the cancellation of the film, as there is no way to get another actor in the role at the last minute, given that Miller is playing more than one character.
Miller was cast in The Flash in 2014, the same year the solo movie was announced. Since then, he’s had small roles in ‘Batman v Superman’ and ‘Suicide Squad’, making his big showing in ‘Justice League’.
It should be remembered that the process of developing the solo film was very long and tiring, as several directors were hired and fired, until Andy Muschietti (“It – The Thing”) took over the role.
And the feature film is one of the main pillars of the DCEU’s future due to its plot that brings the Multiverse into play and promises to give DC’s adaptations to the big screen another boost.
At first, it might seem crazy to cancel a $200 million budget movie, but a spokesperson for Warner Bros. Discovery has previously said the company doesn’t want its image linked to any criminal.
“The recent controversy involving Ezra Miller does not represent the values of Warner Bros. It is a legacy problem for David Zaslav [presidente da companhia]. The hope is that the scandal remains at a low level before the film’s release. [‘The Flash‘], and we hope for the best. There’s no room for that kind of problem in Zaslav’s plan to make DC an explosively successful division like Marvel Studios. In Zaslav’s eyes, Miller is simply not part of those plans in the future DC Universe.” (via Deadline).
We just have to wait to find out what the studio’s decision will be.
Recalling that the plot of ‘The Flash’ will show Barry Allen / Flash (Miller) traveling through time to prevent the murder of his mother. However, when he returns to the present, his mother is still alive…. but the world is a nightmare. The Justice League never existed and Barry must do everything to correct all its faults.
