It was now in the air and the long-awaited stoppage finally arrived. Despite this, millions of Italian citizens have been surprised by all this and will soon have to say goodbye to this type of vehicle: what is going on.

Over the course of this year, expensive fuel has been repeatedly discussed, with the price of diesel and petrol rising dramatically. Fuels have reached unprecedented heights in terms of prices between winter and the beginning of summer, except to return this autumn to a range before 2022. But to further alarm citizens, all possible scenarios concerning the inflation, which continues to cause the cost of fuel to fluctuate.
The dramatic increase in the prices of major fuels followed the outbreak of war in Ukraine and the ensuing diplomatic dispute between Russia and the West. At the same time, the phenomenon of price speculation also occurred, which led the main chancelleries to speed up a process that had already been underway for several months. The European Union therefore wanted to accelerate the green shift.

Now, with high prices and a climate crisis that risks reaching a point of no return, the European Union has decided to accelerate the green shift in mobility. In fact, the objective is to permanently reduce CO2 emissions and in order to disengage from countries like Russia, leaders in fuel storage. Thus, by 2035 it will be official throughout the European Union to stop the production of petrol and diesel cars.
It is precisely in this sense that the European Union will undertake to invest more and more resources for the development of electric cars. The objective by 2035 will be to guarantee a large offer to citizens with electric cars and cars with hybrid propulsion. However, many citizens are alarmed by this courageous and decisive decision by the EU. There is also a lot of skepticism for the industries, given that the almost immediate conversion of production seems complicated.
