Vikings: Valhalla season 2 recently premiered and that makes us wonder about a second season already. This series is a sequel to a more amazing original show Vikings. However, it is set years after the events of the Vikings.

It is also set at the beginning and end of the Viking era. The second season also got great reviews from the spectators. Another season of this show would be phenomenal, right? We already know if the story will be continued for another season.

We most likely watched the new episodes as soon as they were released. Now it’s time to look forward to more. Let’s get into the details.

Is ‘Vikings: Valhalla’ Season 3 Happening Already?

That’s the best update we have. Vikings: Valhalla season 3 is happening. More of the characters and their adventures will be discovered. The series was officially renewed for a second and third season in March 2022, with a 24-episode order confirmed in November 2019.

Now, let’s talk about the release date. The release date of Vikings: Valhalla season 3 is still kept under wraps and it will take some time before getting a release. But Stuart mentioned in 2022 that “production will start soon on Season 3.”

We can only speculate on when the third season will be released. It could be the end of 2023 or early 2024. But we are looking really forward to it too. With the return of the main characters, the story will most likely continue.

Showrunner Of Vikings: Valhalla Teased A Storyline For Season 3

The showrunner of the series explained, “I knew what season 3 was going to be [from the outset]. I knew where season 3 was going to be because of that change of culture, I knew that we have to eventually get to the New World.

So what’s in the toolbox? How do we fill up Leif’s toolbox, and what does Freydis bring to get these people, who are the last hold out of the Pagan faith? And we know what was happening in Europe at that time. It’s exciting for us. And so yes, I’m not doing this season by season.”

Even Leo Suter said, “It’s been really useful for us as actors, having that huge bird’s-eye-view of what this show is going to look like and where these characters are going to get to. It means, sometimes you don’t have to rush to get there because there’s time, lots of time.”

Suter also said to another outlet, “I’m hoping we have the opportunity to complete that journey, but I feel that one, two, and three are all stand-alone’s, all good like that.

I’m happy. I’m a happy guy. I’m getting to tell a really cool story with lots of great action and great characters, a cast that I love working with, and a crew. What’s there to complain about?”

Team Of ‘Vikings: Valhalla’ Season 3 Is Excited

At the time of the confirmation of two seasons Jeb Stuart said, “I’m thrilled to be able to confirm that we wrapped and are already editing Season 2 and that production will start soon on Season 3.

While the storylines for Leif, Freydis, Harald, Olaf, Canute, and the rest of our amazing cast are secret, I can say without hesitation that their journeys will be even more epic than what you’ve seen so far. SKÅL!!!”

He also said before teasing that there might be more seasons. “Most historians think that the end of the Vikings era is 1066. I’d love to do that.

For me, that’ll take more than three seasons. It would be [the endgame]. There’s a lot of great history out there, an enormous amount of growth on all these characters.”
