Inspiration Behind The Making Of ‘Fire Country’
Thieriot explained why he wanted to make a show about firefighters. He mentioned a real-life event, in addition to the experience and chaos that took place.
He revealed to Petaluma Argus-Courier in October 2022, “It was chaos. It was so surreal and unbelievable that this fire was spreading where it was.
People just couldn’t imagine this ever happening. And after it was all over, I was driving around, and it was just hard to digest. My gosh, the devastation.”
The star said, “The crew consults with real firefighters for the scenes.
We work with a bunch of different firefighters, from all over, with many years of experience. A couple of the guys that we have up here both have about 30 years. We really try to bring in as much of the authenticity as we possibly can.
It’s always that fine line of telling these dramatic stories for television, but also respecting the job that people do, and we try to keep those two things close.”
Fire Country’s Official Synopsis
The official synopsis of ‘Fire Country’ reads, “Bode Donovan, a young convict seeking redemption, joins an unconventional prison release firefighting program in Northern California, where he and other inmates are partnered with elite firefighters to extinguish massive, unpredictable wildfires.
It’s a high-risk, high-reward assignment, and the heat is turned up when Bode is assigned to the program in his rural hometown, where he was once a golden all-American son until his troubles began.
Five years ago, Bode burned down everything in his life, leaving town with a big secret. Now he’s back, with the rap sheet of a criminal and the audacity to believe in a chance for redemption.”
