Ernie Lively, “That ’70s Show” actor and father of Blake Lively, dies at 74

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ernie Lively family announced that the former actor died at the age of 74 from heart complications last Thursday (03), in Los Angeles.

In 2003, he had already suffered a massive heart attack, leaving him with only 50% of his coronary function. Years later, he made medical history, becoming the first recorded patient to undergo innovative gene therapy that involves injecting his own stem cells to regenerate damaged muscles and arteries.

The operation allowed Ernie to survive long enough to meet the three grandchildren, sons of Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds: James, Inez and Betty.

Ernie was said to be home with his family when he suffered a sudden illness, went into shock and couldn’t resist.

For those who don’t know, he was married to actress and producer Elaine Lively, and all of his children followed the career as well.

His dramaturgical heirs are Blake Lively (‘Gossip Girl‘), Eric Lively (‘American Pie’), Robyn Lively (‘Twin Peaks’), Lori Lively (‘ Star Trek: The New Mission ‘), and Jason Lively (‘ Os Gatões’).

Born in 1947, the artist has appeared in several television series, such as’ The Big Guys’, ‘Turner & Hooch’, ‘Falcon Crest’, ‘Malibu Shores’,’ X-Files’, ‘West Wing: Behind the Scenes of Power ‘,’ That ’70s Show’ and ‘Written Murder’.

In cinema, he starred in renowned films such as ‘O Price of Treason’, ‘The Buscapé Family‘, ‘Passageiro 57’, ‘No Mundo da Lua‘, ‘Massacre in the Japanese Quarter’ and also played the Lively’s father in ‘Quatro Friends and Travel Jeans’.
