Sofia Mancini and Francesco D’Aversa died in a car accident. The two twenty-somethings had disappeared Monday evening, after being seen getting into his Fiat 500, leaving a nightclub.
The car and the bodies of the two young people were found this morning in an escarpment on the edges of the 450 highway, in the province of Verona, in Affi.
The vehicle was upside down and covered in weeds and branches and was found by road maintainers. Family members have yet to officially recognize the bodies of Sofia and Francesco.
The discovery was also confirmed by Stefano Passarini, mayor of Costermano sul Garda, who had already activated on Friday by giving the alert to the disappearance of the young people. The assumption is that the young people died in a car accident.
Incessant research
The search was also carried out with drones and helicopters and focused on the shores of Lake Garda between Calmasino and Lazise, where they had plugged in the telephone cells of Sofia’s mobile phone, Monday evening for a few moments.
Who were Sofia and Francesco
Sofia was twenty years old and lived with her family in Costermano. Francesco was twenty-four years old, he was originally from Taranto but lived and worked in Verona. The two had spent the evening at the AMEN nightclub in Verona. After that they moved to Desenzano, to then return to Veronese. Cell phones were plugged in for the last time in Calmasino, then silent, until discovered this morning, Thursday, October 20.
