When the producers of “Death of the Demon 3” launched the sequel’s marketing campaign, many fans were surprised by one of the posters that were released.
Indeed, Ash, a character immortalized by Bruce Campbell, displays a muscular physique in a pose referring to the main action films of the late 1980s.
To this day, many admirers of the franchise still don’t understand why the creative team banked on this idea, as Ash was never a typical character in the action genre.
The poster circulated on social media recently and Campbell explained that one of the producers took inspiration from the success of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s films to sell the sequel worldwide.
Since action movies were very popular at the time, he thought it would be a good idea to draw attention to Ash’s muscular body.
“Producer Dino De Laurentiis took care of all this. This is the international poster. He knew Schwarzenegger was selling a lot overseas, so he made me look like him. It’s very silly.

A few weeks ago, Campbell revealed that the next film in the franchise (Evil Dead Rise) will be filmed in New Zealand.
In an interview with Knox News, the filmmaker and former film star, said recordings for the film will be shot from late 2021.
“We are planning to shoot ‘Evil Dead Rise’ later this year. The new film will have an urban setting and New Zealand is already well advanced in preventing and combating the coronavirus. We will be out of danger. ”
Unfortunately, he hasn’t revealed the exact production date, but as he’s still releasing updates, it’s possible that more news will be revealed soon.
He previously told AL.com that the new film will feature a female character.
“The main element of the franchise has always been about having ordinary people facing an uncontrollable force of evil. It’s a scary concept. They are not competent people, they are not soldiers. And, in this new movie, it will be the same. We will have a heroine who will try to save her family.
According to Empire, director Lee Cronin was selected by Sam Raimi himself, creator of the original films.
On his Twitter profile, Cronin said he was honored to have the opportunity to work with Raimi, producer Robert Tapert and Campbell himself.
