‘Charmed’: Madeleine Mantock leaves the cast of the series after 3 seasons

According to TVLine, Madeleine Mantock, who has played Macy Vaughn since the first episode of ‘Charmed‘, will NOT be returning for season 4 of the series.

“Playing Macy in ‘Charmed’ for the past three seasons has been a huge privilege and I have loved working with our amazing producers, crews and cast,” the actress said in an official statement. “I am incredibly grateful to The CW and CBS Studios for the time I have devoted to this series and for their support in this difficult decision to leave. I thank the fans and reveal that an incredible fourth season awaits them.

Coincidentally, Shannen Doherty – the actress who also played the older sister in the original series – also left production after three seasons. Her departure resulted in the character’s death, as well as the arrival of a long-lost fourth sister.

Macy’s fate will only be revealed in the final episode of Season 3, which premieres on July 23.

Created by Constance M. Burge, the series is a reboot of the classic “Young Witches” series, which spawned eight seasons, which aired between 1998 and 2006.
