According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Bridgerton” broke another viewing record and became the most-watched series in Netflix history.
The streaming platform originally announced that Season 1 was shown to 63 million accounts in the catalog’s first month. However, according to new information, the number is much higher than imagined and reached 82 million households in just 28 days, surpassing “The Witcher” record of 76 million.

However, THR explains that “The Witcher” can still carry the title of most watched if the analysis is done in percentages. The series starring Henry Cavill was released in December 2019, a time when Netflix had 169 million users, which means 45% of them checked out production in the first month. By the end of 2020, the service already had 203.7 million users, indicating that around 40.3% had watched ‘Bridgerton’.
In percentage terms, “Bridgerton” remains in the Top 3 of the platform, just behind “The Witcher” and “Stranger Things”. “Rescue,” an action film starring Chris Hemsworth, remains the most-watched original title of all time, with 99 million members.
Based on the novels of author Julia Quinn, the series was created by Chris Van Dusen.
The story follows the life of the eight brothers of the Bridgerton family, one of the most important in English high society in the 19th century.
