The child who was abducted by his father last night after a protected encounter with social workers is safe and sound. After a turbulent night, during which the carabinieri tried to convince him to release the child, the four-year-old came out of the house into his mother’s arms.

According to what emerged from the investigations, the father, of Romanian origin, would have snatched the baby from the hands of the social worker, a 36-year-old woman who had accompanied the child to the protected meeting. The 35-year-old man, according to investigators, had previously attacked his ex-wife and also the woman’s lawyer in the past, over issues relating to her son.

The four-year-old boy was reportedly entrusted to his mother by the courts due to “violent behavior” on the part of his father. The carabinieri, the anti-terrorist unit, a non-commissioned officer negotiating the weapon arrived on the spot and the chief prosecutor of the Brescia public prosecutor’s office Francesco Prete also arrived this morning.
