‘Blackout’: ‘the Ritual’ director to lead post-apocalyptic series
According to Deadline, filmmaker David Bruckner (“The Ritual“) will direct the apocalyptic series “Blackout”, based on the podcast with and produced by Rami Malek (“Bohemian Rhapsody“).
There is still no cast information or which broadcaster / streamer the project will connect to, but the site says it will likely have a streaming service.
In the plot…
A radio DJ in a small town in New Hampshire struggles to protect his family and community after the power grid crashed across the country, overthrowing modern civilization. A reluctant hero must navigate this new world, ensuring the safety of his family and hope for the future.
The second season of the podcast will be released in the coming months and will star Rami Malek and Aja Naomi King.
Malek will be the adaptation’s executive producer.
