Marquezine recently opened up about her experience in the movie. The actress told Quem magazine that the feature required a lot of her, even because the actress had to act in a language she was not used to speaking.
“It was an experience that asked me a lot in aspects that, until then, I had never experienced. Interpreting in another language is a great challenge, because I feel in Portuguese”, Bruna said.
The actress admitted that it was very good to feel different “butterflies in the stomach”, after having had a consolidated career in Brazil. She said directing Blue Beetle was an “emotional” and “empowering” experience, as she found herself more “alone” on set than she usually was.
“It was really good to feel so vulnerable again, insecure and to feel so many butterflies in my stomach. I still have butterflies in my stomach, but this time I was definitely in a place… And a lot more alone too, so it was a very moving and empowering, but very beautiful experience. It was great to be able to feel all that,” he concludes.
Susan Sarandon replaced Sharon Stone as the villainous Victoria Kord. The character in question was created especially for the film and does not exist in the comics.
Raoul Max Trujillo (“Mayans MC”) will play the other villain, Conrad Carapax, the Indestructible Man. He was a rival archaeologist to Daniel Garrett, the first Blue Beetle.
Belissa Escobedo, Harvey Guillén and Raoul Max Trujillo are confirmed in the main cast.
Angel Manuel Soto (Charm City Kings) is directing, from a script by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer (Miss Bala).
