“Covid hit us like everyone else. We lost about four and a half months of production. And as a result of that, we had to postpone the movie premiere for a year, until December 2022. But that doesn’t mean we have more time to finish the movie, because the day we delivered ‘Avatar 2 ‘, we started working on finishing “Avatar 3”. And right now we’re shooting in New Zealand. We are recording what is missing from the live action and there is still 10% to be done. We have already completed 100% of “Avatar 2” and we have completed approximately 95% of “Avatar 3”.
The delay around the second film is believed to be due to Cameron investing in new technology in theaters.
In an interview with Digital Spy, he revealed that he had created “technology so advanced that no one could imagine it today”.
“We have the best artists and technicians in the world to create a film so visually rich it will shock everyone. We will surprise you with an innovative film in all respects, ”he said.
‘Avatar 2’ won’t hit theaters until 2022, after four years of delay.
Cameron has already scheduled the release of the other chapters of the saga.
