According to Deadline, Andrew Garfield (“Spider-Man: No Return Home”) will star in the “Hot Air” miniseries, which will be directed by David Leitch, of “Deadpool 2.”
The actor will play Richard Branson, in the production which will focus on the famous British businessman.
The site also claims that several streaming services are interested in the project, creating great competition behind the scenes in the industry.
Written by Jon Croker (“The Adventures of Paddington 2”), the production will be based on the book “Dirty Tricks”, by award-winning investigative journalist Martyn Gregory.
The plot follows the story of billionaire Richard Branson, chronicling the fascinating and scandalous rise of Virgin Airways.
Branson started the Virgin Atlantic company in 1984, with a single charter plane. In the 1990s, the airline began to threaten British Airways’ dominance in the UK market after securing landing slots at London Heathrow Airport. In response, BA invested heavily in suppressing competition by using “dirty tricks” to obtain inside information.

Despite this, Branson continued to grow his business – one of twelve in his portfolio. In 1999 he sold 49% of the shares to Singapore Airlines.
Croker and Garfield will also serve as executive producers. Universal International Studios, a division of the Universal Studio Group, is the studio behind the project.
The miniseries will have six episodes, but does not yet have a release date.
