Denim, shades of electric blue and cutout details: this and more comes from the Alexander McQueen show, also walked by Naomi Campbell.
Alexander McQueen’s Spring/Summer 2023 plays with intense, electric, sometimes dark colors, proudly displayed during the show which officially closed fashion month. The house chose the Royal Navy Collage in Greenwich as the venue, staging its show and displaying its collection on an elevated platform.

After New York, London, Milan and Paris, fashion continues to offer great ideas for the next season. Although some designers decided to postpone the show out of respect for Queen Elizabeth II, Alexander McQueen immediately expressed a desire to show his creations beyond fashion weeks. And his proposal is flying off the calendar in a cloud of blue and red.
Alexander McQueen’s Vibrant Spring Brings Trends to the Catwalk
On the occasion of the Frieze Art Fair in London, the brand showed its idea of spring by chasing intense shades, with dark and trendy connotations already said. Who said spring should only be pastel and neon? Alexander McQueen focuses on the most vibrant, electric shade of blue that pairs well with dresses, suits and shoes. With a well-defined feminine gaze, the catwalk comes alive with suits with asymmetrical cuts, low waists.

Feathers, leather, oversized suits and velvet shoes dominate the scene. The dresses do not abandon the cutout detail, one of the great protagonists of the slogans of the next fashion season. And Alexander McQueen also adds an artistic reference, bringing to the catwalk four costumes inspired by the painter Hieronymus Bosch.

And Naomi Campbell has not gone unnoticed (how could she?), who in recent years has preferred to spend much less time on the catwalks and more on the red carpets. But for Alexander McQueen, she went the extra mile, walking with her undisputed charm in a jumpsuit completely covered in black and gold sequins. And there too the cut detail is not lacking, which makes a thigh-high effect.

Sarah Burton, new creative director of Alexander McQueen, offered timeless trends like the dark denim you love that lends itself to different sizes, from jumpsuits to mini dresses. Reflecting on the new collection, he said, “It’s about the search for humanity and human connection. The eye is the symbol of this humanity, a register of emotions, an expression of uniqueness. Our clothes are designed to empower.”
