Peacock has released a new trailer for the reboot of classic comedy The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, which opens on February 13.
And, apparently, the attraction won’t bet on comedy alone and promises to bring plenty of dramatic moments, showing how problematic young Will (Jabari Banks) ‘s life was before he moved to Bel-Air.
Will Smith, who played the main character in the original series, joins as executive producer alongside Morgan Cooper. Cooper will also script and direct certain episodes.

Set in the present, the plot will follow the complicated journey of Will, who traversed the streets of Philadelphia to the gates of a mansion in Bel-Air. The new version will have a dramatic tone and delve into conflicts and emotions impossible to explore in the comedic format of a sitcom.
The cast also includes Adrian Holmes (Phillip Banks), Cassandra Freeman (Vivian Banks), Olly Sholotan (Carlton Banks), Coco Jones (Hilary Banks), Akira Akbar (Ashley Banks), Jimmy Akingbola (Geoffrey), Jordan L. Jones ( Jazz) and Simone Joy Jones (Lisa).
Recall that the platform, which belongs to NBCUniversal, has already given the green light for two seasons of the new version.
