According to Deadline, Freddie Stroma (‘Bridgerton’) has joined the cast of the series ‘Peacemaker’, a spin-off production of the feature film ‘The Suicide Squad’.
The actor will play Vigilante / Adrian Chase, a New York City prosecutor who seeks justice in his own way after his wife and children were killed by mobsters.
The character would originally be played by Chris Conrad, who ended up leaving the project after “creative differences”.
The series will explore the origins of John Cena’s character from “The Suicide Squad”, the Peacekeeper, a man who believes in peace at all costs – no matter how many people he has to kill to do so.
James Gunn, director of The Suicide Squad, wrote the script for the series and directed several episodes.
In addition to playing the lead role, John Cena will also be the executive producer on the project.
The cast will also feature Danielle Brooks, Robert Patrick and Nhut Le, as well as the return of Steve Agee and Jennifer Holland, who will reprise their roles in the film.
Don’t forget that ‘O Esquadrão Suicida’ will debut on August 6th.
