‘Abracadabra 2’, which was released this year, changed the orientation of the characters from the original film. In addition to the Sanderson sisters, like Omri Katz and Vinessa Shaw, actor Jason Marsden asked if they would be willing to return for a third film.
Everyone said that, yes, they would be open to returning to the franchise, with Katz noting that it wouldn’t be necessary for the film to follow the Sanderson sisters, it might be easier. Although he also took into account that it took them about 30 years to make the sequel, and for a third movie, they couldn’t have taken that long.
“I would be 100% ready to do it… I haven’t read the sequel, but who’s to say there has to be continuity in terms of the story? You can create any story. If they take the book and turn it into a good script, it doesn’t have to be the witches coming back, they can do whatever they want and people will be happy to see it.”
“Witches are 30 years older, so we have to do it sooner or later. We cannot wait another 30 years. Sorry, it’s the truth! I’m sure Bette doesn’t want to do this at 98.”
Shaw added: “She’s having a lot of fun. I bet she is. The crazier the better!
