Charge Sapienza, Calenda: “Were the fascists students? Yes”

“I hate Capezzone. When I hear him speak it seems to me Labor in the Right version. But being a liberal, I defend Capezzone’s right to express themselves everywhere without being attacked by students. This was declared by Carlo Calenda, senator and leader of Action, in front of Palazzo Madama before the vote of confidence in the Meloni government. The episode mentioned by the leader of Action is that of the police charges against students which took place in front of the Faculty of Political Science of La Sapienza University in Rome.

Yesterday, Tuesday October 25, a conference was planned in the classrooms of the faculty in which Daniele Capezzone and Fabio Roscani, deputy of the Brothers of Italy took part. The conference, devoted to “good capitalism”, was fiercely contested by the students who gathered in a procession and reached the Faculty of Political Science chanting anti-fascist slogans.

Sapienza offices: what happened at the University

Arrived at the gates of the faculty, the procession of students was blocked by the mobile service of the State police. After a few tense moments, the officers made a wall with shields and drew their batons. By hitting some students who tried to cross the police cordon to enter the university. Two students were arrested. One of them was handcuffed while lying on the ground. Some were injured, including one in the head. The episode sparked many political reactions on the eve of the vote of confidence in the Meloni government. Calenda defends the work of the police.
