Goodbye Michael Schumacher, it’s time for changes: the news thrills all fans. The future promises to be full of novelties
Sports history teaches that in rare cases the children of champions are able to emulate their exploits or even do better. Paolo Maldini earned more than his father. Cesare, and it was the same for Kobe Bryant in basketball, heir to this Joe who often played in Italy. And Mick Schumacher? Imitating the father is impossible but he tries.

The next few weeks will be characterized by big changes in the home of the German champion. Michael Schumacher’s family will say goodbye to Ferrari after 26 years, as it now seems clear that Mick will not renew his relationship with the Ferrari Driver Academy to build his future elsewhere in Formula 1.
Yes but where ? So far the young German has shown good potential after winning the Formula 2 world championship, but he has also been very hostile behind the wheel of the Haas. It is, however, a name that attracts many, not only with us, and this is how he would think of the Audi which from 2026 will officially enter the world of Formula 1.
In reality, the first steps will already be in 2023 with the acquisition of the first 25% of Sauber shares which will again be linked to Alfa Romeo next year. By the end of 2025, the German brand will have 75% of the Swiss Scuderia in its hands and can therefore also decide what to do with the drivers.
Michael Schumacher goodbye, it’s time for changes: the big moves in the world of Formula 1
Adam Baker, CEO of the German brand and also responsible for the project to arrive in Formula 1, has begun in recent hours to reveal something about future plans. Interviewed by Spanish newspaper ‘Marca’, he explained that within three years of joining, they hoped to be able to fight for victories while a podium in the first year would be a dream.
But he also spoke about the drivers he would like to have in the team. One is Carlos Sainz, who will see his contract with Ferrari expire in 2024 (his father, a former rally champion, won the Dakar with Audi). And the other is Mick Schumacher: “To be honest, a German driver would be interesting for us, but the final decision will be based on performance, not nationality”. Mick Schumacher (La Presse)
Meanwhile, Michael’s son spent another anonymous weekend in Austin. Fifteenth at the end, only for the relegation of Fernando Alonso, without any ring. Haas, which just announced Moneygram as its new title sponsor, has yet to announce who will join Magnussen next year and take it all the way to the GF in Abu Dhabi, the final race of the season. But Mick Schumacher, at least for now, should stay on his feet.
