Cashback 2022, it’s not over: last days to take advantage of it. Time is running out, dates to remember for consumers
Naming cashback these days makes Italian consumers turn up their noses because even though it was a formula that worked, it all stopped in June 2021. At that time the collection of receipts was over and everyone ran aground.

But there is one more date that Italian consumers should keep in mind. Indeed, the Ministry of the Economy has decided to extend the time limit for recovering refunds due and all bills not yet received due to a missing or incorrect IBAN. It was supposed to expire on July 31, but the deadlines have actually been extended to October 31, 2022.
In the event of reimbursement without cashback, participants can therefore always check, exclusively via the IO application, the correct insertion of the IBAN code relating to the account on which they wish to receive the transfer. Simply login to the IO app using your SPID credentials or eIDs and enter the “Wallet” section.
Then tap on the Cashback card and enter the IBAN code in the space provided. Finally, select “Continue” when the operation is completed at the end. What if an IBAN already exists? The ministry recommends checking that it is spelled correctly. Otherwise, you must change it and within 90 days you will receive a message via the IO app about the progress of the refund.
Cashback 2022, it’s not over yet but the new government has very different ideas
The State Cashback was born with the aim of encouraging purchases, then refunding part of what the consumer has spent. Additionally, however, the Conte government had been a means of pushing more and more Italians to use electronic and non-cash forms of payment, as it was the only way to join.
It all ended on June 30, 2021 because the Draghi government set aside the State Cashback, not considering it useful for the economy and for the savings of Italians. From January 2023, the health cashback could start, to immediately recover part of the expenses made in pharmacies (and not only). Cashback 2022, no return in sight (Pexels)
And the nascent Meloni government? He has very clear ideas and they align with those of the executive who preceded him, because the state funded cashback will never come back, which is why these are the last vestiges.
