On September 8, the whole world was shocked by the news of Queen Elizabeth’s death. The English sovereign died at the age of 96, after having reigned for 70 years (she had celebrated her birthday in June). With her, an era ends and one of the most important historical figures of the 20th century goes, an incredible woman capable of keeping the British monarchy alive in our time. Now the new king is his son, the eldest son Charles, and a lot of things have been resolved bureaucratically. But do you know, for example, who inherited the queen’s jewels? It is one person.

Queen Elizabeth had ascended the throne very young, at 26, after the sudden and premature death of her father, King George V. At the time, the princess was on a trip to Africa and had to return immediately to London. The protocol also provides that when members of the royal family travel, they always carry at least one black dress in their suitcase, in order to have to wear it in the event of an unexpected death.

During these seventy years, the queen has been in the center of the press also for her private life. From her marriage to Prince Philip (who died in 2021 at almost a hundred years old), she had four children: Carlo, Anna, Andrea and Edoardo.
