‘Sorria’ continues to amaze on the big screen! Despite “Halloween Ends”‘s debut, the horror has remained strong at the box office, where it has already grossed $137.5 million worldwide.
For comparison, “Sorria” is within US$3 million of surpassing “Scream’s” total box office ($140 million). Additionally, the film is also expected to surpass the worldwide grossing of “The Black Telephone” ($159.5 million), making it the BIGGEST horror film of the year.
In the United States, the film earned $71.1 million. In the international market, it was $66.4 million.
It’s worth remembering that the movie saw a drop of ONLY -18.3% in the second weekend, which is the second highest retention in history for a horror movie – only behind “Get Out “, which recorded a decline of -17% during its second weekend in 2017.
With a budget of just $17 million, horror can already be considered another hit in the genre and, perhaps, the start of a new blockbuster franchise.
