In December of last year, it was announced that the recording of the second season of “ Star Trek: Picard ” would begin the first week of February – but, it seems, production was once again postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Things are starting to come back now,” producer and showrunner Alex Kurtzman said in an interview with STX Magazine. “We would have started earlier, but we couldn’t do it because of COVID-19. He also reported “Discovery” and “Strange New Worlds“.
The news was also reported by actress Jeri Ryan, who plays cyborg Sete de Nove on the series, on her official Twitter. Asked about the veracity of the start of filming, she replied: “no. But soon”.

The series has as its main character Jean Luc-Picard (with the return of Patrick Stewart on the small screens), who appeared in two series and four films, the first time in 1987. Picard also made a special appearance with “Star Trek” : Deep Space Nine ‘before migrating to the big screen.
Alison Pill (“The Newsroom”), Harry Treadaway (“Penny Dreadful“) and Isa Briones (“American Crimes Story: Versace”) complete the cast. Hanelle Culpepper takes over the project.
