“A Quiet Place”: John Krasinski reveals the origins of the famous monsters from the thriller

One of the many fascinating aspects of “A Quiet Place” is its way of telling the story of the Abbot family trying to survive silently in the midst of an invasion of terrifying monsters.

Unlike other titles in the genre, the thriller doesn’t contextualize how Earth was invaded by monsters, it only inserts viewers into this tale that’s already underway, making them feel like family.

However, the public still have doubts about the origin of the monsters and how this doomsday scenario was created.

In 2018, star and director John Krasinski previously revealed to Empire that monsters are, in fact, aliens … even if it is implied.

“They are absolutely aliens. They come from another planet. When I developed the idea about them and what I wanted them to look like, I ignored most of the alien movies because they are about their macabre plans… But I wanted to show them as parasites. introduced into a new ecosystem. What I’m going to say now is terrible, but it would be like releasing hungry wolves into a day care center. This is how the world of “A Quiet Place” works.

He continued:

“The idea behind all of this is that they are definitely aliens and an evolutionarily perfect machine. So the idea is that if they grew up on a planet without humans or light, then they don’t need eyes, they just need to hear. They’re also developing a way to protect themselves from everything else, so they’re bulletproof and stuff. I had to make sense of that. I needed the rules of the monster are against family logic. Let’s face it, the Abbots made some amazing rules, so I needed the monster to outsmart them.

In Krasinski’s mind, aliens came to Earth after their homeworld was destroyed and many of them were killed, proving that they are not invulnerable as they appear.

“I believe your home planet’s resources were depleted after an explosion. But they have this armor that is their shell, the ones that survived evolved and mutated. But they just look invulnerable, they just do it.

While some fans love the mystery behind the tale, it’s impossible not to be curious about what else Krasinski may reveal around this rich universe, which has already been seized.

Recalling that the franchise will win two other films, one related to the main plot and a derivative.

According to Deadline, the derivative is already in development and is expected to debut in theaters on March 31, 2023.

Jeff Nichols, director of “Amor Bandido” and “Midnight Special”, will direct the new film, which is described as a side story that will take place in the same universe as the first two films.

Plot details are being kept under wraps and all that is known about the story is that it is based on an original idea by Krasinski.

As the project is still in its early stages, updates are expected to be released in the coming months.
