Filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan’s new thriller titled ‘Time’ is coming out soon and specialist critics have already had the opportunity to check out the production and the first reviews are already here.

And dividing the opinion of reporters, the feature earned a 50% approval in popular review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. Considered somewhat ambitious, the film does not seem to have met expectations in terms of its narrative construction.

But despite its mistakes, ‘Tempo’ was still considered captivating and engaging, also being called “brilliant” by some.

Discover the main opinions of the moment:

“‘Time’ is unequivocally a film where you are either engaged for good or eager to leave.” – Nate Adams, the only critic

“Intriguing concept, imperfect execution”. – Rafer Guzman, Newsday

“Although Tempo was not entirely successful, I enjoyed the film.” – Chris Hewitt, Minneapolis Star Tribune

Enjoy watching:

“Time presents an absurd time lapse scenario. No twists or surprises punctuate this bizarre trip, just a few moments of horror and a lot of embarrassing humor. – Meagan Navarro, bloody disgusting

“A worthy Twilight Zone premise, subtly sold for better makeup effects, makes it a decent thriller, intriguing for now, but ultimately too shy to say anything meaningful about aging.” – Joshua Rothkopf, Empire Magazine

“Is Tempo’s center hook enough?” For many, I suspect the answer is ‘not much’. – Michael Phillips, Chicago Tribune

“M. Night Shyamalan returns to the heyday of cinema with a brilliantly warped thriller. Time takes a single premise and rushes with it into true existential horror.” – Julian Roman, MovieWeb

Recalling that ‘Tempo’ opens on July 29 in national cinemas, but the first reactions of international critics have already been made available on social networks.

With praise for the pace, performance and direction, the production was applauded and even considered the director’s best work since ‘Corpo Fechado’.

M. Night Shyamalan gets so creative with OLD. His camera work is exhilarating, with some of the most daring and aggressive filming techniques I’ve seen of him. The visuals are a bit stronger than the story, but damn it, Thomasin McKenzie continues to amaze. pic.twitter.com/ZhIlzpmFUj

“Shyamalan was very creative with ‘Tempo’. His camera work is breathtaking, with some of the most daring and aggressive techniques I’ve seen him use. The visuals are a bit stronger than the story, but Thomasin McKenzie continues to amaze us.

When #OldMovie starts up, it flies like a bat out of hell. As the film starts off slowly and awkwardly, it ends up being a body horror that successfully aligns with the emotional family drama. Absolute summer fun from M. Night Shyamalan. pic.twitter.com/vl4XWKSvk4

“When ‘time’ rolls, it flies like a bat straight out of hell. Although the film stumbles a bit at first, it ends up being a horror body that successfully merges into an emotional family drama.

It’s time to tell you about @ MNightShyamalan’s Old.

Old is the best movie Night has made since Unbreakable. It is an intense and relentless thriller made with sadistic joy and surprising emotion. It’s hard to watch and I loved every second of it. Full review and interview later this week. pic.twitter.com/HOV9A1gQwg

“’Time’ is the best movie Night has made since ‘Closed Body’. It is an intense and ruthless thriller, made with sadistic joy and surprising emotion.

Thanks @MNightShyamalan! I hadn’t been scared of the beach since Jaws, and now #OldTheMovie put me in suspense and stress mode all the time. Really enjoyed its premise and themes. Be ready for a disturbing and wacky vacation in paradise. Def check. @oldthemovie pic.twitter.com/vBXVYtiVqW

“Thank you Shyamalan! I hadn’t been afraid of the beach since ‘Tubarão and now’ Tempo ‘left me feeling anxious and sorrowful all the time. I really liked the premise and the themes ”.

The feature will hit national theaters on July 29.

The feature film is based on the comic strip Sandcastle, by Pierre Oscar Lévy and Frederik Peeters.

The plot follows a family on vacation discovering a secluded beach where they decide to relax for a few hours. However, they soon realize that the place is aging them quickly, reducing their entire life to a single day.

The cast includes Gael García Bernal, Vicky Krieps, Rufus Sewell, Ken Leung, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Abbey Lee, Aaron Pierre, Alex Wolff, Embeth Davidtz, Eliza Scanlen, Emun Elliott, Kathleen Chalfant and Thomasin McKenzie.
