In an interview with the Happy Sad Confused podcast, director Zack Snyder confirmed that at one point in his career he was developing a movie in the “ Star Wars ” franchise and that he would bring countless references to the legendary Akira. Kurosawa.
“Yeah… we talked about it, but never… you know.” I worked on it – away from the ‘Star Wars’ universe, something unique, something just sci-fi … it’s still sci-fi, it’s the same story, but now I’m letting ‘Star Wars’ be ‘Star Wars’ and I’m gonna … You know. My eleven year old me always wants to do this and now I know how – so maybe someday ”.
