Brosh says, “It’s perfect for Valentine’s Day, not just because it’s a love story, but really because there’s a lot of different kinds of love in the movie. There’s parental love, friend love, and love for the city that you live in.

There’s a warmth and a lovingness to the environment that’s created in the movie. [It] was a really fun place to go to every day, and to imagine these people who really treat each other with a lot of kindness and respect.”

Your Place Or Mine Trailer Is Exciting

Debbie and Peter are best friends who are complete opposites. The trailer starts with a look at the main characters, who have been best friends for nearly 20 years.

“Happy birthday, Peter,” Debbie says. 20 years of friendship. Can you believe it?” Debbie took the trailer on a little trip down memory lane, recalling the first time they met. She’s also a single mother. She likes the place.

“My mom always says you’re terrible with women,” Debbie’s child says to Peter. Jackson Avery from Grey’s Anatomy also appears in the movie. Debbie believes she has met someone. And Peter has some feelings for Debbie.

A Body Swapping Movie But Without The Body Swapping

That might sound a bit confusing. But Brosh McKenna explained to an outlet a little more about the concept of the movie.

“I think of it as a body-swapping movie, but without the body-swapping. They each get to walk a mile in each other’s shoes. And by doing that, they learn things about each other they never would’ve found out otherwise.”

She also added, “I went to New York to work on something and I stayed in my friend Ted’s apartment. At the time, he was a bachelor, [and] it made me laugh how bachelor-y his apartment was. He still had his silverware in plastic wrap.

So, it made me laugh to think about what would’ve happened if Ted had come to my house and take care of the kids. That was the genesis of it. I actually then cast Ted in the movie playing [a] doorman. So, you can see the inspo for the movie, in the movie.”
