NBC has officially renewed the comedy “ Young Rock, ” based on the life of star Dwayne Johnson, for Season 2.
“It’s been a lot of fun watching Dwayne Johnson and Kenan Thompson on NBC every week and seeing families connect with their interesting, funny and moving stories,” said Lisa Katz, president of programming at NBCUniversal. “We’re excited to renew ‘Young Rock’ and ‘Kenan’, and we look forward to seeing more of Dwayne, Kenan and the incredibly talented cast and crew behind each of these productions.

The series was created by Jeff Chiang and Nahnatchka Khan (“Fresh Off the Boat”).
The plot revolves around different chapters in Dwayne Johnson’s life. From growing up in a strong, resilient family, to being surrounded by the wild characters of its pro wrestling community, to football at the University of Miami, the series will explore the crazy roller coaster that made Dwayne the man he was. he is today, still with the great characters he has met along the way.
Dwayne Johnson stars in the production. The cast also includes Joseph Lee Anderson, Stacey Leilua, Ana Tuisila, Adrian Groulx, Bradley Constant and Uli Latukefu.
