The website of the Ministry of Health contains a bulletin board, within which are constantly posted notices concerning the withdrawal of certain batches of food that is contaminated or does not comply with certain health regulations in force. Obviously this is a site constantly updated with new novelties, but especially in the last month there has been a strong increase in the withdrawal of lots of wholemeal pasta belonging to a large producer brand.
According to what emerges from certain rumors from fairly reliable sources, this regulation had to be put in place in response to the numerous reports from consumers who were outraged by the fact that, for weeks, they had continued to find non-compliant sanitary characteristics. As for this batch, insects were found inside the bag containing wholemeal pasta from a well-known Italian brand.
The consumer associations took charge of the dissatisfaction of the category they represent and asked for clarification from the company concerned. The latter, through his lawyers, immediately published a press release in which he specified that numerous quality controls are carried out throughout the production chain. Despite all the attention, they explain that it is really very simple for an insect to end up inside the packaging, since these are products that come from the fields, therefore from the places where the same insects are born and proliferate .
Despite this, the companies concerned approve of the measures taken by the Ministry of Health and apologize to the consumers who had to deal with this unpleasant misunderstanding. They conclude the press release by specifying that they are committed to strengthening controls within the production chain, starting with the fields: indeed, it is precisely the places that are sensitive to contamination. They want to emphasize that they will continue to produce quality Italian products without going beyond the use of chemicals that tend to be harmful to health.
