‘World Reports’ acclaimed western starring Tom Hanks to be released in Brazil by Netflix in February

Netflix has just announced that it has purchased the distribution rights for the Western drama ‘Relatos do Mundo‘ (News of the World Reports) in Brazil.

The film, which will be released in theaters by Universal Pictures, will now premiere on the streaming platform on February 10.

Starring Tom Hanks and directed by Paul Greengrass, the western received 87% critical approval on Rotten Tomatoes.

Five years after the end of the Civil War, Captain Jefferson Kyle Kidd (Hanks), a veteran of Three Wars, travels from town to town to tell stories, share news and his adventures around the world. As she crosses the state of Texas, she crosses paths with Johanna (Helena Zengel), a girl welcomed by the Kiowa people. Kidd takes on the mission of returning the young woman to her biological uncles, but as they cross the American West, they find themselves facing great human and natural challenges.

Luke Davis signs the screenplay, based on the eponymous novel published in 2016 by Paulette Jiles.
