‘Wonder Woman 3’ was announced even before the premiere of the second film, and fans are curious to know how the new adventure of the heroine lived by Gal Gadot will unfold.

And it looks like the answers could emerge over the next few months as the script for the sequel is ready.

The information was revealed by director Patty Jenkins during her participation in the Matera Film Festival.

At the time, the filmmaker said she viewed the franchise as a trilogy, but would be open to returning to the director’s chair in other films.

“I remember when I said I was going to do just one movie [da ‘Mulher-Maravilha’], and, my God, I made two. Now here I am, thinking, “Oh my God, I can’t wait to make the third one.” Now I say I have planned a three-movie arc to tell that story.

She continued:

“But now that I’ve finished writing the script for the next one…I wrote the final scene last week and thought, ‘Maybe I’m interested in seeing what happens next.’ So you never know. [da Warner] We’ve been asked to think of ways to do more, but you never know [se vai haver mais]. I have a lot of other movies that I can’t wait to do too. And I love Gal Gadot, so that makes the idea even better.

The heroine movies transition at various times between World War I and the 1980s, and the last time audiences saw the heroine in the present day was during the events of “Justice League.”

But Gadot revealed to MTV News that he hopes to see Diana in the contemporary world in the next film.

“We still don’t know what to bring to the next film. But I wouldn’t go back to the 1960s or 1940s. I feel like his past has been well portrayed and now it’s time to move on.”

Previously, Jenkins spoke to The Hollywood Reporter and had the same opinion, stating that the 3rd movie would be a story centered on the present.

“I don’t want to do another period film, and that’s one of the things I discussed with Warner. I can’t wait to put it back in time, because we wouldn’t show where this character. So it’s definitely a contemporary story. That’s all I can say. And where we’ll take the story and how it will be revealed, I’m not sure yet.”
