In an interview with Collider, director Patty Jenkins revealed that there was no possibility of releasing an expanded version of “Wonder Woman 1984,” as she claims to have cut only one scene in the production.
“The only difference I felt from the final cut was that I wanted a little more time between scenes. If I had pulled out my long haircut the movie would be 15 or 10 minutes longer and everyone would be like, ‘I can’t see the difference’ because that would just result in a slower pace and it wasn’t worth it. not really worth it. I didn’t shoot a lot of scenes in this movie, I just cut out parts of the scenes. The only scene we actually cut was Steve and Diana taking a cab in front of the National Museum of Natural History. I think that’s the only scene we cut from the movie.
Against criticism of the film’s pace, the director said, “I grew up watching movies with slower paces and I think it’s great. And, when I show these movies to my son, he doesn’t think they’re too slow. When you watch “Superman” or “Raiders of the Lost Ark”, there is nothing slow about them. But I’m also a director, so who knows? I may be leaning too long on certain scenes to support the film. Typically, administrators do this when left alone. “
Meanwhile, “ Wonder Woman 1984 ” surprised the global box office, even though it was released simultaneously in the US for streaming.
So far, the film has grossed $ 100 million worldwide, having aired in China and other overseas territories last weekend.
