Ilaria Maiorano was the name of the 40-year-old found dead at her home in the Osimo pavilion, in the province of Ancona.

She was allegedly the victim of feminicide, beaten to death by her husband, El Gheddassi Tarik, of Moroccan origin, at the height of a quarrel. The couple had two young children. The man was taken away by the police in charge of the investigation and is in custody at the local police station. On the spot, even the traffic police.

Woman found dead at home, the imam: “It was a beautiful family”

In the house, a country house, when Ilaria’s body was found, some of the man’s family arrived, as well as the imam of the Islamic community of Osimo, who spoke of a “quiet family” who attended the local mosque. “It was a beautiful family – she says – her husband sometimes came to the mosque with her. He is a friend of the imam of the Islamic community”.

According to Resto del Carlino, the 118 health workers, sent by the Carabinieri, found the woman. The soldiers were in turn alerted by a relative of the victim, who had heard the 41-year-old man on the phone. After Ilaria quickly disconnected the call, the relative tried several times to call her back, but she did not answer. So, suspicious, she called the carabinieri.

Injuries on the body consistent with beatings

Tarik was already known to the police, under house arrest for a drug problem. He and Ilaria had been civilly married for ten years. When the Arma soldiers arrived, the man was not at home. He would have justified himself by saying that his wife would have accidentally hit her head during a fall. But according to a first analysis of the corpse, the injuries seem compatible with blows, not with a fall.
