Reflecting on the potential of this story, Reese Witherspoon was the first to break the silence by explaining that she still had high expectations for Big Little Lies. The biggest obstacle, according to Witherspoon, is respecting the overall vision of director Jean-Marc Vallée who died in 2021. While they want to develop a third season, they would have to consider his idea for a TV series. “The death of Jean-Marc Vallée was very hard for us. He was our collaborator, our friend, our brother.
