Garlic is one of the foods that many do not like in the kitchen, but they do not know that it could be a valid alternative to use at home instead of certain chemicals that, in the long term, become harmful to the environment and to ourselves. . . One of the most used home remedies is to put garlic in the toilet to thoroughly clean and disinfect it. In fact, this place is much richer in germs and bacteria than one might imagine: according to the good rule, it should be cleaned and disinfected once a day, but even following this scrupulous schedule, it is possible that bacterial residues remain on the surfaces. .

There are so many detergents on the market that ensure good efficiency, but there are many housewives who prefer to create a do-it-yourself detergent: many of them are mainly vinegar and baking soda based, but small little by little there is a food that catches up on. It is precisely garlic, which is a natural antiseptic and anti-inflammatory, consisting mainly of a substance called allicin. This molecule has a particular characteristic: it manages to protect the surface where it is located from the aggression of parasites, bacteria and fungi.

This happens because allicin alters the normal habitat these fungi need to grow and reproduce. It is precisely because of these properties that every day more and more people decide to try disinfecting their toilets with garlic. The use is really very simple and immediate, in fact it is enough to remove the so-called “shirt”, that is to say the protective film, from a clove of garlic and put it directly to the toilet interior. Experts recommend doing this at night, as this is the time of day when you need less bathing and can let the garlic work longer.

Once you get up the next morning, just flush the toilet with clean water. To have a good result, it is necessary to repeat the operation at least twice a week, so as to ensure complete hygiene of our toilets. Many complain about the presence of encrusted yellow stains along the internal walls of the toilet: our experts recommend an excellent formula to eliminate them completely: according to what they claim, it would be enough to make a tea flavored with garlic and to pour slowly into any areas that have these hard-to-clean encrustations.

The tea is very simple to prepare, in fact all you need to do is boil about two and a half cups of water with three cloves of garlic. At this point we just have to wait for everything to come to a boil. After the water has cooled, we are ready to pour it into the toilet. It is also a procedure that must be repeated several times a week, in order to weaken even the most encrusted stains over time.
