‘Westworld’: Fixed Cast Will Be Paid For Season 5 Even With Series Canceled

We learned yesterday that the ‘Westworld’ series has been canceled, but the cast formed by Evan Rachel Wood, Thandiwe Newton and company will not be financially harmed by this.

According to Deadline, even without production on Season 5, the main fixed quintet will still be paid for episodes, due to contractual obligations to HBO.

Jeffrey Wright, Ed Harris and Aaron Paul will also be paid. The five have signed a contract guaranteeing their presence in a possible fifth year even without a confirmed renewal. Which ultimately didn’t happen.

News of the cancellation came three months after the end of the fourth (and now final) season. The high cost of production compared to the low ratings is believed to be the main reason.

The cast includes Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright, Tessa Thompson, Aaron Paul, Angela Sarafyan, Luke Hemsworth, Aurora Perrineau, Ariana DeBose, James Marsden and Ed Harris.
