Since its debut, “Dahmer: An American Cannibal” has dominated the Netflix platform. The production has already logged more than 700 million minutes watched, making it the second most popular English-language series on the streaming service, just behind “Stranger Things 4”.

However, the series’ reign as Netflix’s most popular production has come to an end. The project with Evan Peters fell to second place, being dethroned by the thriller miniseries “Welcome to the Neighborhood” (The Watcher).

It should be noted that both productions were developed by Ryan Murphy, of “American Horror Story”.

In the United States, the TOP 5 also includes “The Midnight Club”, “The Blacklist” and the original documentary “Talking to a Serial Killer: The Milwaukee Cannibal”, which also focuses on the infamous story of Jeffrey Dahmer.

The Brannock family’s dream of living in the perfect home quickly turns into a nightmare. The spooky letters are just the start of everything to come after the neighborhood’s dark secrets are revealed. Inspired by a True Story.

Naomi Watts, Bobby Cannavale and Jennifer Coolidge star.

Ian Brennan (“Glee”) will co-create the series and serve as producer alongside Murphy.

The series is inspired by a disturbing real case that took place in New Jersey. A couple bought a house in 2014 for nearly $1.4million but were forced to give up their new home because of chilling letters from the Observer, who claimed they had ‘watched’ the house for decades. “I am the Observer. Give me your young blood,” one of the notes read. The family put the house back on the market. It was not sold, but they managed to rent it out. In 2017, the tenant also received a disturbing letter from the Observer, threatening his life. The house sold in 2019 for $959,000. The identity of the Observer remains a mystery to this day.
