‘Silk’ (‘Silk Web’) is the latest project from Sony Television and Marvel and now the production has got more official details.
According to The Illuminerdi, the producers are looking for an actress between the ages of 19 and 29 to play protagonist Cindy Moon. The character is described as “an indomitable spirit who can’t help but care” while being “smart, confident, funny and, at the same time, trying to please everyone”.
Lauren Moon (‘Atypical’) is in charge of the script, while the duo formed by Chris Miller and Phil Lord are in charge of production.
The superheroine is Cindy Moon’s alter ego and first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man Vol. 3 # 1. The character was bitten by the same radioactive spider that bit Peter Parker / Spider-Man, granting him the same powers. However, with no one to guide her, she was locked in a warehouse to be protected from the forces of Morlun, a psychic vampire who had repeatedly harassed her compatriot.
Her main powers include reflexes, speed, and Spider-Sense (nicknamed by her the Silk Sense), even better than Peter’s. She also has the ability to pull canvases with her fingertips, as well as retractable claws and eidetic memory.
In the live-action world, Silk Web made her debut briefly in “Spider-Man: Back to Home”, played by Tiffany Espensen (who reprized the role in “Avengers: Infinite War”).
The series joins several productions from Sony’s arachnid universe, including sequels to “Venom”, “Morbius”, “Jackpot”, “Kraven the Huntsman” and others.
No other information was released.
